The principle

Software stacks up like Tetris.

Every feature is a block. Place it well and the next one fits. Place it in a hurry and you carry the gap for years.

I have spent nearly eight years on the same product, so I have seen both. Most of my work is about keeping a large codebase easy to change: clear contracts between services, and data models that survive growth.

The boring parts are the point. Tests, migrations, logs and CI are what let a team keep shipping.

Backend, integrations and developer tooling for a localization platform.

Maintain and evolve the public REST and GraphQL APIs, supporting multiple versions with backward compatibility.
Contributed to 100+ Crowdin Marketplace integration apps connecting third-party products to the Crowdin API.
Built the FastSpring billing integration with webhook deduplication.
Maintained and improved high-volume file import/export workflows using AWS S3.
Helped build a Laravel authentication service with OAuth sign-in and JWT-based authentication used across the platform.
Built the business logic for the translation workflow string queue on RabbitMQ, and debugged queue and worker failures in production.
Optimized large MySQL tables and queries for a high-traffic platform, working with indexes and query plans.
Work across the stack: PHP backend and React frontend.
